CHARLIE'S MONTANA

Written & Curated by Andy Meyers

A vibrant collection of poetry, songs and letters penned by America’s foremost cowboy artist, Charles Russell. Russell’s influence stretched wide, with a unique style and western point-of-view of life in the ‘wild west’; an era of romance, adventure, and tragedy – all captured by Russell. His art, celebrated as “stories on page”, perfectly translates to a theatrical event illuminating his dynamic work, along with other famous cowboy artists, a few tall-tales, campfire songs and even some legendary Montana ghost stories. What is the Winter Reading?

Every Year in mid-winter the Fort Peck Summer Theatre hosts a "Winter Reading". At this event, a small group of actors will read through a short story or play. Due to the Fort Peck Theatre not being heated, events hosted in mid-winter tend to be a bit chilly for our taste. Therefore this event takes place in a variety of suitable locations in Glasgow & Fort Peck, MT.
